GALLIEN KRUEGER GK2001
GK's RB Series bass amplifiers have been setting the standard for over two decades. Inside these compact. lightweight "super structures" is the most advanced bass circuitry available. In 1972, Bob Gallien developed what he calls G.I.V.E. Technology (Gate Induced Valve Effect). This 'valve effect' is integrated into the design of all RB Series heads and is part of what gives them their distinct sound. The RB Series heads deliver a warm, punchy tone with a fast transient response that not only sounds better, it feels better. GK's renowned voicing filters and intuitive four band active EQ make it simple to dial in a great sound. Everyday thousands of players around the world in arenas, clubs and basements plug into GK heads because they love that sound.
GK generate the tremendous currents required to maintain cone control at high power levels , by using extra output devices, and sophisticated SOA protection circuits. This also costs more, but will deliver up to ten times the current of other comparable amplifiers.
Bi-Amp Advantages Most players want a little growl in their sound, which comes from riding the rails. Due to horn distortion, this technique does not work with passive full range systems. In a 700RB or 1001RB Bi-Amp system, the horn is driven from a separate 50W power amp that doesn't distort when you push your sound to the rails. This means you can get all the growl, and keep the articulation from the horn. Bi-Amp systems also put the horn control on the amplifier front panel, making your life just a little easier.
Finally, a temperature controlled, variable speed fan, keeps everything cool, so when push comes to shove, and you really need to lean on your amp, you've got?..
